Ottawa, 18 August 1999
Power Broadcasting Inc.
Kingston, Brighton and Prescott, Ontario
Six-month renewal for CKWS-TV and its transmitters
1. The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the television programming undertaking CKWS-TV Kingston and its transmitters CKWS-TV-1 Brighton and CKWS-TV-2 Prescott, from 1 September 1999 to 29 February 2000, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licence.
2. The Commission considered the application for the renewal of this licence at the public hearing held in the National Capital Region on 28 June 1999. However, it will not be able to rule on that application before the current licence expires.
3. This administrative renewal does not dispose of the renewal application, nor of any substantive issues that may exist with respect to the renewal of this licence. The Commission will issue a decision on the licence renewal application at a later date.
