Ottawa, 20 November 1997

  Telecom Order CRTC 97-1703
On 19 August 1997, Télébec ltée (Télébec) filed an application for approval of tariff revisions to its General Tariff, reflecting the introduction of Integrated Voice Messaging Service.
  File No.: Tariff Notice 153
The Commission notes that the company applied to offer a competitive voice messaging service without providing tariffs for access by potential voice messaging competitors to its telephone network.
In light of the foregoing, the Commission orders that:
  (a) The proposed tariff revisions are approved effective the date of this Order.
  (b) Télébec is directed to file with the Commission, within six months of the date of this Order, underlying services tariffs to permit a competitive voice messaging provider to access the company's telephone network.
