Telecom Order

Ottawa, 2 October 1997
Telecom Order CRTC 97-1410
On 25 July 1997, NewTel Communications Inc. (NewTel) filed an application for approval of a promotional campaign for Message Manager and Custom Calling Features.
File No.: Tariff Notice 532
1. The proposed promotion would provide individual line business customers who have selected NewTel as their Primary Interexchange Carrier promotional rates for certain local optional services.
2. The Commission notes that in Telecom Order CRTC 97-1345 dated 22 September 1997, it determined that, at this time, the bundling of local optional services with toll services provided an undue advantage to the Stentor owner companies.
3. In light of the foregoing the Commission orders that the proposed tariff revisions are denied.
