Decision

Ottawa, 7 March 1997
Decision CRTC 97-96
CHUM Limited
Ottawa, Ontario - 199616752
Decrease in power for CITY-TV-3
Following Public Notice CRTC 1997-10 dated 22 January 1997, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CITY-TV Toronto, by decreasing the effective radiated power of its transmitter, CITY-TV-3 Ottawa, from 1,000,000 watts to 500,000 watts.
The licensee also proposes to relocate CITY-TV-3's transmitter to a developed site, that of CFMT-TV-2, which is located east of Manotick at Herbert Corners, and to increase the effective height of the transmitting antenna. As a result of these changes, the grade A and grade B coverage contours will be shifted approximately 13 kilometres to the east.
The Commission hereby authorizes the licensee to operate the undertaking on the basis of the contours and particulars resulting from the above-mentioned changes.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
Allan J. Darling
Secretary General
