Decision

Ottawa, 17 December 1997
Decision CRTC 97-676
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
Increase in power for CBCY-TV-2
1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1997-129 dated 17 October 1997, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CBCY-TV-2 Smithers, by increasing the effective radiated power from 31.1 watts to 155 watts.
2. The CBC stated that the proposed power increase will improve CBCY-TV-2's coverage to Smithers and vicinity by alleviating interference caused by noise from power lines.
3. The Commission hereby authorizes the licensee to operate the undertaking on the basis of the contours and particulars resulting from the above-mentioned changes.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
