Decision CRTC 96-86
Vidéotron ltée
Montréal, Quebec - 952348100CF Câble TV inc.Montréal, Quebec - 952349900
 Licence amendments
Following Public Notice CRTC 1995-215 dated 13 December 1995, the Commission approves the applications by Vidéotron ltée and CF Câble TV inc. to amend the broadcasting licences of the cable distribution undertakings serving Montréal as follows:
·  The Commission deletes the licensees' authority to distribute a specialty ethnic programming service. The licensees propose to replace this service with the new multilingual television station, CTEQ Télévision inc. (CETQ), as soon as it is in operation.
·   The licensees are relieved, by condition of licence, from the requirement of subsection 9(1) of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 (the regulations) to distribute the CTEQ service on the basic band. The Commission notes the licensees' commitment to distribute this programming service on channel 24, as part of the basic service of their undertakings.
The Commission acknowledges the intervention received from CTEQ in support of these applications, subject to the requirement that if the channel line-up were to be rearranged and the CTEQ service moved from channel 24, it would expect the licensees to distribute the service on the basic band, as required by the regulations.
The Commission also acknowledges the opposing interventions received and is satisfied with CF Câble TV inc.'s reply thereto.
This decision is to be appended to each licence.
