New radio network
Following a Public Hearing in Calgary beginning on 15 July 1996, the Commission approves the application by WIC Radio Ltd., for an English-language radio network licence for the purpose of broadcasting the hockey games of the Manitoba Moose, for the 1996-97, 1997-98 and 1998-99 seasons of the International Hockey League.
The Commission will issue a network licence expiring 31 August 1999, subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued.
Any affiliates of the CBC carrying broadcasts of the games must ensure that their network affiliation agreement is respected, and that any rescheduling of CBC programs affected by the broadcasts in question is acceptable to the CBC.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
