Decision

Ottawa, 15 July 1996
Decision CRTC 96-285
Fundy Cable Ltd./Ltée
Saint John, New Brunswick - 199606513
Licence amendment for CJYC-FM
In Public Notice CRTC 1996-66 dated 10 May 1996, the Commission announced an application submitted by Fundy Cable Ltd./Ltée in response to the Commission's announcement in Public Notice CRTC 1995-60 entitled "A Review of Certain Matters Concerning Radio". In that public notice, the Commission announced that it would be prepared to revise the format system by relieving the licensees of commercial FM stations of their respective Promise of Performance commitments to operate their stations in Group I "Pop, Rock and Dance" or Group II "Country". At the same time, the Commission announced that it would retain a "Specialty" format.
The Commission approves the application by the licensee of the radio programming undertaking CJYC-FM Saint John, to amend its licence in order to be relieved of the current commitment set out in its Promise of Performance to operate in a Group I or Group II format. Accordingly, the Commission replaces that commitment by the following condition:
It is a condition of licence that this station not be operated within the Specialty format as defined in Public Notice CRTC 1995-60, or as amended from time to time by the Commission.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
